Facing My Fears Part I

Aug 24 2011 Facing my fears

Part I:

It’s true, This is my year of facing many of my fears or confronting them head on.

For if fear didn’t exist ,there would be a world of endless POSSIBILITIES. So why is it we feel afraid?

Okay so I Just joined a kickboxing club to take my fitness to the next LEVEL & I couldn't be more jazzed. ( Just saying) I love the challenges that it presents and I love to make new friends .

Prior to my first workout, I thought I was in shape, but I’ve been corrected. My biggest goal is to lose 40 lbs! It sounds ridiculous. But I’m only 5”4” and maybe ½ also. I am a fitness & health advocate & definitely need to look the part. So, 165lbs is not cool; at least not for my dimensions.

After getting my Body Fat % measured, I’ve Committed to get extremely closer to my end goal by the end of October. With all considerations I might be even more critical to myself. My body measurements were not too bad. I can’t say I’m too dissatisfied. My ideal weight would be around 135, that’s where I’m most comfortable.

Most of my company is shocked when they hear the # on the scale, so I guess I’m not in the worst physical appearance. Additionally I’m pretty keen on hiding behind fashion, so it’s whatever.

So here’s the game plan; I could not think of a better way to do it than to join a place that gets excited about EXTREME workouts. I get it! It’s not for everyone. What is even more awesome is that going into week 3 I’m -9lbs . It’s REFRESHING.

I've been praying for an opportunity like this for various reasons and paaazah! - there it is, EXTREME KICKBOXING it is….among other things to follow.

Thank God, for giving me the Strength and Energy to not only try it but also DO it !!!!!

In order to flourish or grow, we must acknowledge all of our weaknesses or at least know that they exist so that we can take it in stride and conquer them. My Lesson of the year or Theme of the year is to not be such a big chicken about everything & just go ahead and jump in the deep end of the ocean.
